Festival of Homer – opening night cocktail party

June 15 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free – $40

Our 2018 Festival of Homer begins with a cocktail party celebrating all things Homeric. Humanities 21 presents an evening of drinks, nibbles and inspiration. It’s a chance to meet other participants in the festival and mingle with some of the presenters in the pleasant environment of Melbourne’s Kelvin Club. TICKETS HERE

Dr Christopher Gribbin will kick off the festival by discussing why Homer and Greek myth still matter in the 21st century. Why are we still fascinated by these stories after thousands of years? What do we learn about ourselves by looking at how the ancient Greeks told their stories? Dr Gribbin contends that Greek myths still have much to say to us today. Join us for what’s sure to be a night of epic proportions!

This event is FREE for Humanities 21 members or holders of a Festival of Homer festival pass.
