About Humanities 21
Humanities 21 is an independent group formed out of concern for the continuing decline in resources allocated to English, History, Classics and Philosophy across Australian schools and universities, and the undervaluing of humanities graduates in the business world. We aim to help the Humanities receive a better hearing from educational funders, granting bodies and philanthropists, based on a greater recognition of their contribution to society. By promoting public programs and events in Melbourne through Humanities 21 eNews, and offering in-house seminars to Melbourne businesses, we’re working to bring humanities academics and research closer to the community.

Boo Radley Book Club: November – The Great Gatsby

November 30 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

| $12

Join us at the Henley Club for the final edition for 2017 of the Boo Radley Book Club, where we will examine F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel of the roaring twenties, The Great Gatsby, in which a mysteriously wealthy man yearns for his lost love. Wine, beer, and nibbles will be accompanied by an interactive discussion of the novel, led by a Humanities 21 student volunteer. Come one, come all – you don’t need to be a literature expert to feel at home at the Boo Radley Book Club.
Participants are welcome to arrive at the Henley Club any time from 5.30pm, when drinks and nibbles will be served. Book club discussion will commence at 6pm, and go for an hour or so.
Your $12 cover charge includes wine, beer, and nibbles. Please advise if you have any dietary requirements (email Maeve from Humanities 21 at [email protected] or Rahul from Disruptive Business Network on [email protected]).
